'Mwezi Walala' Music Project

‘Mwezi Walala’ is a music project in Malawi. It was established by one of Malawi's leading mobile operators called Airtel. The aim of the project is to reach out to the needy. In 2014, the company, through the project, donated K5 million to Hope for the Blind. The music project features 20 artists such as C-O, Theo Thomson, Gwamba, Faith Mussa, Patience Namadingo, Ethel Kamwendo Banda, Rudo Mkukupha Chakwera, Annie Matumbi, Fikisa, Mlaka Maliro, Skeffa Chimoto, Anjiru Fumulani, Blak Jak, Blasto, San B, Tay Grin and Lucius Banda.

It is part of the company’s social corporate responsibility. The project came to the rescue of blind students following countless challenges facing them in their pursuit for good education. The project was followed by the launch of the ‘Mwezi Wawala’ music video at Country Club Limbe where 11 out of 20 musicians featured on the song performed.
