*Bio of Prof. Atamina*

Prof. Atamina, born David Atamina in Damongo NR; is a Ghanaian Musician and Griot from Bongo in the Upper East Region, who performs with the “Kɔlkɔ” [A two stringed Lute instrument from Northern Ghana and some African countries].

His first album titled “Mind your Own (African Problem)” was released in November 29,2011 under the management of Dr. Emmanuel Azusong Atusinya.
Some of the songs which made waves in the first Album include “Why Me” , “Good things have owners” , “Family Planning”, “Na’am Bobri Kaara mɛ” ETC.
The second album was produced in collaboration with Makkum Records, a record label in Amsterdam and Mr Simon Peter Adatare ( formerly of Ghana Cocoboard).

This album titled ,“Shycophantic Friends” received a lot of airplay in Ghana and across the Globe.
Some of the tracks in the Sycophantic Friend album include:
Enjoy yourself, When two Elephants fight, No one Wants to die, Rubber Song, Guhumenga, Bakolko, Wine’nbisi Mam etc.

His last album “Trouble Car” was released by his new management team , OneDuniya’ , on 6th October 2020, and is distributed online by Apprise Music on all digital platforms.

The Prof. has Performed alongside several seasoned Musicians like Atongo Zimba, King Ayisoba, Wiyaala, Blakk Rasta, Kwaw Kesse, Wanluv d Kuborlor, etc. on shows such as; The Batakari Night organized by King Ayisoba,
Back to the Roots Show at the National theatre ,
Ghana Associaton of Writers show at Power house,
Samanpiit (harvest festival in Bawku),
Azambene (Fire Festival in Bongo), and a number of Guest appearances in Ouagadougou, Zabrɛ, Guelewongo, Siebele, Zɛkɔ all in Burkina Faso.

He just released his first Song in 2021,in preparation for an upcoming Album.
This track is titled SURPRISES and his Management Team (OneDuniya’) has promised to back him with the needed Resources needed to bring out more Classic Records so as to Heighten his Unique African folk Music style.
Prof. Atamina recently set up his band called Prof. Atamina Sɔlema’ Band. This band specializes on the Playing of Indigenous Traditional African Instruments like the Talking drums,Shakers,Rattles, Xylophone, Djembe, Lute etc, and the Kɔlkɔ being the lead Instrument.
Alongside the playing of these Instruments and Singing is a mixture of typical dance moves from his native Region of Upper East and other African dances.
