Prof Rippon and African Buskers

Bio

Prof Rippon and African Buskers are music professionals from South Africa.

I have worked with productions and performances as performing artist over the years, such as The Dim-Dep Musical, the Dim Dep Enviro Blitz and a ‘book launch in concert’ for example, presented in the Playhouse Opera Theatre in Durban, many produced by Sagiya Records/Foundation. Performances in the past I participated in, included musical events in 2015 at MITH (Music in The Hills) in Hilton, right up until 2019, which included performances at The Playhouse Opera Theatre, Sibaya Casino - Izulu Theatre and other events such as MITH (Music In The Hills) locally. Before and during the lockdown, I focused on composing songs for ‘edutainment’ (education through entertainment) projects, to present and perform at seminars, business breakfasts, conferences and music festivals.

I was invited to participate in a virtual jazz concert on the 8th of November 2020, during this lockdown, which I was very humbled and grateful to be part of. Working virtually is the ‘new normal’. The potential for local, regional and global markets creates awareness, but yet to be seen how real revenue can be made locally right now, during the current COVID-19 pandemic still in full force in most countries, continents and communities.

Time is running out!!! Climates are changing! It’s now the time, to really start taking care of our little piece of the planet. By utilizing the Sport, Arts and Culture industry, we can get our people back into the outdoors, educate, entertain and help ‘heal our world’. Sending messages of ‘hope’ locally, and globally. Working together as a ‘team’ we will then ‘cope’ with frustrations and challenges. Can’t you see that it’s time to ‘clean-up’ our Country. All citizen’s together for your Community. Africa it’s our time!!! Reaching out between 2020 and 2030. Creating environmental and community development awareness hosting the theatre production: 'Dim Dep: The Musical: Faces of Environmental Success' which was launched in July 2015 and then hosted in 2016 during the Environmental Month of June.

The last performance was hosted at the Playhouse on the 8th of November 2020 in the Playhouse Company (Opera Theatre) for the Sagiya Virtual Jazz Concert 2020/2021and performed with his band: Prof Rippon and African Buskers . you can refer to our website: www.sagiyafoundation.co.za for further details of all events and activities being undertaken.
