Runtown
Bio
Runtown is a Nigerian singer-performer. Born Douglas Jack Agu in Enugu in South-east Nigeria, he moved to the country’s capital Abuja after the death of his father. He later returned to his hometown. One of his ambitions growing up was to be a basketball player. He claims Sean Kingston, Bob Marley and Kanye West as inspiration.
In 2007, he moved to Lagos with rapper Phyno and collaborated with a few artists, singers J-Martins and Timaya among them. Runtown racked up singles, most of them played frequently on radio. Notable among these singles are the songs ‘Gallardo’ with Davido (2014) and ‘Emergency’ (2013) with Skales and Patoranking. Emergency, a song by producer WizzyPro, later won the Headies award for Best Collaboration.
He is studying Fashion Management in New York. His debut album, Ghetto University, was released in 2015.
