Sané

Bio

Sané is a Zimbabwean singer and songwriter.

She spent her early primary school years living with her grandparents in Komba before moving to Hwange. In Hwange, she attended Nechibondo Primary School, where her potential was recognized beyond her disability. Sane initially attended the Resource Unit class for disabled students but quickly proved herself as the best student in her class. As a result, she was moved to a class with able-bodied pupils. It was during this time that she joined the school choir and became a lead vocalist.

Sané has been involved in music since her time living in Lupane and Hwange, where she sang in church. In high school, she was a member of the school choir and held positions such as committee member of the National Aids Council club and secretary of the Albinism Association of Zimbabwe Trust.

In 2021, Sane enrolled at Noble Hands Zimbabwe Trust, an organization dedicated to empowering people with albinism. She pursued a music course there. On April 28, 2023, Noble Hands released an album featuring Sane, with her song "Gwenhure" (Shona for 'bird'). The song carries a message of warning to those who seek to undermine the efforts of others.
