Tilla

Tilla (formerly Tillaman) is Adeyemi Adetona, a Nigerian recording artist. Born to HRH Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, a king in Southwestern state Oyo, Tilla is a prince (He is also called Omooba, ‘prince’ in Yoruba language).

He took his first steps as a musician in 1999, releasing a single which received little notice. A second song ‘Medusa Makossa’, claimed by the artist to be the first makossa song recorded by a Nigerian, was released. The song reached a larger audience and got Tilla a few gigs. He, however, left the country soon after for higher education in the UK.
The song ‘Puyanga’ and its remix (2011) was well received.

Tillaman has released a slew of songs, achieving the biggest hit of his career with ‘Ko ma roll’ in 2012. He released the songs Caro (OMG!), ‘Mawobe’ and ‘Badman’ under the name Tilla. These songs were released under new label Aquila Records.
