Bio

Zawadi Yamungu is an artist from South Africa.

Her real name is Nkosingiphile Mpanza she was born in Mandeni North of KZN, her stage name Zawadi Yamungu is a Swahili name meaning Gift from God.

She is a Musician, vocalist, composer, arranger, and most of all an uMakhweyana bow player

In 2020 during covid pandemic, she released a debut album titled Magogo School of Thought as she was paying tribute to Princess Magogo, on this album she worked with Mbuso Khoza of the African Heritage Ensemble and Nduduzo Makhathini who was the producer of the album.

She also works as a facilitator at the community art center in Kwamashu (Kcap Art Center), She was the Lead singer at the theatre show Nandi The Musical written and directed by Edmund Mhlongo.

She sings with a roar African voice, authentic music, and indigenous sound Amahubo, African music from the past.
