Bongi

Born and raised in Cape Town Bongi is an artist who leads a daring correspondance between two continents. Blending Afro-pop and urban Folk into a sparkling mixture of voices and energy, she reignites the musical traditions of Southern Africa. Her songs, performed in Xhosa -  her own mother tongue – outline a Pan-African musical arc that is equally magnetic and mesmerising : the fertile interbreeding of a culture in exile.
 
Her polymorphic voice full of spirituality, gets carried away with the percussions and the electric flights of the guitar, breathing life into her South African roots.
