Bio
RemiTone Music is a live band fusing traditional rhythms from Tanzania's tribes to the sound of the diatonic accordion and modern and groovy melodies. His music is composed of Swahili,French and English texts which bring about daily life with some humor.
RemiTone grew up in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He is a multi instrumentalist, singer, songwriter and composer. At the very young age, he started to make music and dance in a tradition music band and later created his own band called Cocodo African Music. Being a drummer and a singer, RemiTone toured across East Africa and Europe sharing music and collaborate with other artists like Dargen D'Amico from Italy etc.
He shared stage with well known musicians such the late Oliver Mtukudzi (Zimbabwe), Koffi Olomide (DRC), Sauti Sol (Kenya), Habib Koite (Mali) and Eric Wainaina (Kenya). Apart from that RemiTone featured different festivals during his 10 years of performing such as Sauti za Busara and ZIFF in Zanzibar and Bayimba Festival in Uganda.
RemiTone met Aurélie when she travelled to Tanzania. Their first written and composed EP by the title Safari was released in 2017 followed by ZigZaga in 2021. Their songs, serenade into their two mother tongues in French and Swahili, speak about the daily life and themes as such as environment or social justice. Since 2021, they live in west of France where they continue to play, produce and perform into different stages in Europe.
