Ghana-based incubator shares First Class Vol. 1 album

The Continent Live, a Ghana-based incubator for emerging musical talent, has released a new album titled First Class Vol. 1. The collection is available for streaming and download across all major digital platforms.

The new project is a culmination of a two-week songwriting camp.

The new project, the culmination of a two-week songwriting camp conducted earlier this month, brought together 50 artists, 12 producers and five songwriters with roots from Ghana, Nigeria and Sierra Leone.

This collaboration yielded over 70 completed songs. A curated selection of these tracks, chosen for their excellence and innovation, will be unveiled throughout the year.

First Class Vol. 1, which revolves around Afrobeats, R&B, highlife and soul, is the initial offering of this series. It features seven tracks from the writing camp, spotlighting the artistry of Vondee, Cool Paul, Baba Wvd, Dajon AF, AratheJay, Dove Nicol, Nii Amu and Reinna.

According to a statement, the roll-out of these songs aims to boost the visibility of each artist, fostering broad recognition and acclaim.

“We’re thrilled to unveil this project, showcasing incredible songs crafted by talented artists, producers and writers,” The Continent Live’s founder and CEO, Roland Ohene-Amoako, said. “It’s just a glimpse into the vast pool of talent Africa has to offer.”

“The Continent Live project means a lot to me because of the platforms, exposure, collaborations and other opportunities they’ve given me as an emerging artist,” said Vondee. “I’m happy that emerging artists like myself and others including producers who did amazing too, could come together to create such Genius. I’m excited about the future and what we collectively are going to share with the world. Looking forward to collaborating more on upcoming projects like this.”

“It’s a great opportunity to show undiscovered talent from Ghana and I’m glad to be a part of it,” Nii Amu said.

The Continent Live says its mission is to support the African music industry through the production of top-tier music content, executive producer services and operating a talent agency.

“Through strategic partnerships, a deep understanding of the market, and a commitment to showcasing African musical talent, we aim to connect with the African youth and foster engagement through our platform,” says the incubator.
