The Very Best

The Very Best is a fusion between London-based DJ/production duo Radioclit and Esau Mwamwaya, a musician from Lilongwe, Malawi. Their music has been described as an Afro-Western mix of dance, hip-hop, pop, and the traditional music of Malawi. Esau Mwamwaya was born in city of Mzuzu, but spent most of his childhood life in Lilongwe, where he learned how to play drums with various bands. Esau performed with numerous artists such as Masaka Band and Evison Matafale. In 2008, Esau, Tron and Johan Karlberg worked together to create a project known as The Very Best, that enabled them to release a disapprovingly acclaimed free mixtape through the label GREEN OWL. Their songs are sung in Chichewa, the national language of Malawi and the group was nominated in the Independent Music Award for Best Album - World Beat.
