Praise Unlimited

Formed in 2013, Praise Unlimited is a music outfit made up of 20 members. The group consists mainly of young people from the Mbabane Free Evangelical Assembles Church, under the leadership of Pastor A.M.B. Matsebula. The ensemble is made up of young and vibrant people who are driven by their passion to serve God through song. They are all dynamic and born again Christians who are gifted singers and performers ready to take the music world by storm.

Directed by seasoned musician, Sabelo Masuku of Christ Herald fame, the choir is driven by the ambition to take gospel music to the greatest heights, locally and beyond. Following the successful launch of their promotional cd in November 2013, Praise Unlimited released a debut full album titled ‘Uphakeme’. The demo cd comprises of three songs ‘Ebukhoneni’, ‘Dumisa’ and ‘Uphakeme’ which have been aired in all the country’s radio stations.

Their debut album was recorded at Cut n’ Edit Studios in 2014 in Johannesburg, South Africa. It consists of 13 tracks including those in demo cd and others such as ‘Mbukeni’, ‘Wethembekile’, ‘Busa’, ‘BekaKuye’, ‘Wangithanda’, ‘Ungcwele Uthixo’ and ‘The Lord Reigns’. These are compositions by the group members as well as friends like lawyer Ntsika Fakudze. His composition, ‘Wethembikile’, was one hit song during the group’s performance at Pastor Benjamin Dube’s cd launch this year. The song was arranged by the group’s musical director Phindokuhle Sithole, together with two others, ‘Ebukhoneni’ and ‘Busa’, composed by Ndumiso Manana from Nelspruit and group Member Fakazi Mamba respectively. The rest of the songs were composed by Phindokuhle. Also in the album are sing along traditional hymns like ‘O’ Bayethe’, ‘Akekh’ Ongamelana Nathi’ and ‘Ufanelwe’, which were re- arranged to suit their music style.

On 25 April 2015, the group hosted a “No Limits Music Workshop and Worship Experience” at Mbabane Free Evangelical. The aim of the workshop was to educate everybody on the art behind praise and worship. The workshop was followed by a music concert featuring Xolani Mdlalose from Joyous Celebration and many other artists.
