Bio

Rhyme Assassin (real name Tichaona Monera) is hip-hop artist from Zimbabwe who was born in 1981. He spent the early years of his life in Highfield, Harare where he began writing songs and performing at high schools gigs. His career began taking shape between 1999 and 2001. In those years, he featured on various contests with such as the Miss Waterfalls.

Shortly afterwards, he relocated to the UK, London where he re-launched his music career. From 200 to 2002, he worked on a number of initiatives such as rap battles and live performances while in London. In 2012, he released a single track titled ‘BlackHope’. The song was inspired by the socio-political landscape in most African countries. In October of that year, he was nominated in the Male Artist of the Year category at the ZIMMA awards.

In 2014, he partnered and assisted fellow musician ‘Mr Cee’ to record his debut single track and video titled ‘Mari Yangu’. He collaborated with Trevor Dongo on a song called ‘Amai’. In mid-2015, he was working on his debut album called the ‘Grand Synopsis’. He owns a record label called Nameles 263 Records.
