DJ Caise
Bio
DJ Caise is a Nigerian DJ. Nicknamed ‘Celebrity DJ,’ he has performed with several Nigerian pop artists, Wizkid, 2face, Naeto C, Lynxx among them. Born Derin Phillips, DJ Caise was raised in Lagos. Influenced by Nas, Tupac, Notorious BIG and Jayz, he attended Reading University in the UK where he obtained a BSc Economics and and MSc Finance, all the while DJing on the side.
Upon graduation, he worked at the treasure department of a bank where he traded fixed income securities. He then left to focus on music.
DJ Caise has performed on some of the most noteworthy events in Nigeria including 2010 MTV Africa Music Awards, 2010 Soundcity Music Video Awards, Big Brother Africa, Glo Naija Sings Winners Party, Lagos State Governor’s Independence Day Ball. He is the DJ for Beat 99.9 FM, Lagos.
He is currently signed to record label Chocolate City and has released a couple of singles including ‘Number 1’ featuring Waje (2012) and ‘Crush’ featuring Iceprince (2014).
