Duncan Woods

Bio

Duncan Woods is a Zimbabwean-Australian raised musician and songwriter. He rose to fame through his music productions which acclaimed international recognition in countries such as England and Australia. Born in Chinhoyi, Zimbabwe, he grew up in Australia where his music career started. He then moved to Denmark where he is currently based. He attended Wadalba Community School in 2007 in South Wales, Australia. He attended the University of Newcastle in the same country where he graduated with a degree in Physiotherapy.

At 16, he started teaching himself how to play the guitar, writing and recording songs at a friend's basement. He eventually started writing music at the age of 19 whilst still in University. It was during a holiday break in London that he was spotted by a music producer. His inspiration for writing and performing developed through travel, love and friendship, themes which can be heard in his debut album ‘Together on the Road’ released late 2011. He has two more albums namely ‘Invisible Sound EP’ (Aug 2009) and ‘Bird in Hand’ (Dec 2013).

Duncan's music is influenced by many Australian and International artists such as Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, John Butler Trio, The Cat Empire, Bob Marley, Cat Stevens.

Besides music, he is also a qualified physiotherapist. As a physiotherapist working for HealthStrong he had the privilege of having enough to continue to utilise his p[rofessional skills while following my passions in music. He thus prefers to call himself a musiotherapist due to his passion for his music career and his profession as physiotherapist.
