Superstar Mason

Superstar Mason is a rapper from Pretoria, South Africa. Mason graduated from University of South Africa with a law degree. His love for hip-hop music began at an early age. He began writing music at primary school and recorded his first demo at 13. After 14 years of recording music, he has released over 100 songs.

Mason started his career from an early age when he recorded his demo at the young age of 13 and is now has released his first official EP, Price of Fame, a full project of which he is currently promoting. This EP was released and marketed online on various platforms, namely iTunes, Apple Music, Google Play, Deezer, Spotify, Joox and Shazaam. His music also has a strong presence on Audiomack and Soundcloud.
Superstar Mason came up on the Doctor Stress show on TUT fm (Soshanguve), which was present in the mid 2000’s on Thursdays. He realised that his rap passion can be turnt into a career, hence the release of The Price of Fame EP in early November 2018. Superstar Mason has worked with various artists and producers all over South Africa, namely WiziBeatz, Thasman (Thabiso Tsotetsi), Leon (Jika Boys), D-Mo Beats, Nemises, OmenBeats, SpikeBuoy, Bula, Mr Mercedes (Afrikan Roots), Delite Music and many more local musicians.

Superstar Mason has been fortunate to share the stage with the best artist across the country from the likes of AKA to Emtee and Bontle Modiselle. Performances at venues such as Drum Rock, Cliff Central, The State Theatre, Cantare (Monte Casino), Hashtag (Ga-Rankuwa), Madidi Sports Ground, MT Lounge (Thembisa), GOG Lifestyle Park Centre Protea Glen, Back to the Old School 2017, The Republic 94 Café, MTN activations around Soshanguve, Soweto and Daveyton and is a regular at the Thursday Open Mic Sessions in town (Bosman Old Fire Station) and the Peke Sessions (now in Block HH) has also elevated his popularity and determination to really make an impact in the local hip-hop scene.

Apart from the stage, Mason also has significant music videos on YouTube that really bring out and illustrate the audio of his works. He is set to release his next Project, The struggle of the Dreamers with Naptune Beats in about 6 months’ time and it has been well anticipated as his fan base is mostly hip-hop orientated and trust him to deliver the skills he promises on all his songs. His latest video Ganda Ganda has been accepted and playlisted by Channel O after the initial single, Come Up ft WiziBeats was also playlisted by Yfm earlier this year. Plug 2 Da Game is the latest single from Price of Fame of which is attaining popularity in the urban radio stations, namely Yfm and Thobela Fm. This is in conjunction to him being on the airwaves of Motsweding Fm, TUT Fm and Soshanguve Fm. It has certainly been a busy and exciting year for the Superstar of which promises to end with a bang.
