Archive of African Ethnomusicology

The Cape Town-based Centre for Advanced Studies of African Society (CASAS) has recognized the need to provide a platform for the publication of papers on serious African music, as a contribution towards strengthening our knowledge, collective memory and consolidating our contribution to the development and study of African music and global culture. In this endeavour, they found it necessary to start a journal named Archive of African Ethnomusicology (AAE), which consists of a continuous series of papers on African music, especially: indigenous African music; African court music; ritual music; religious music and composition/music theory, etc.
