Arts and Culture Trust (ACT)

ACT is the oldest funding agency in democratic South Africa. It was established to secure financial and other resources for arts, culture and heritage; and to project the needs and role of the sector into the public domain. ACT aims to attract and provide funding for the sustainable development and growth of the arts, culture and heritage in South Africa, actualised through mutually beneficial partnerships between the corporate, public and cultural sectors, focused on making a positive difference to the lives of all South Africans.

The objectives of ACT are: the development and promotion of arts, culture and heritage; the advancement of artists, cultural and heritage practitioners; the promotion of education in arts, culture and heritage; and the construction of facilities and the creation and development of a sound infrastructure to support all of the above.
