Bunta King (Derick Caesar Obeid, born on August 5, 1999) is a Tanzanian rapper, singer, and songwriter who has made significant strides in the East African music scene. Growing up in Mbezi kwa Msuguri, Dar es Salaam, he discovered his passion for music at an early age. By the time he was 12, he was already performing rap covers of popular songs at school, quickly gaining recognition. His musical journey took a significant turn when he won the “Voice of Marian (VOM)” award, marking his first major recognition for musical talent.
Inspired by some of the greatest artists of the time, Bunta King began writing his own lyrics and recording music, officially launching his career in 2018.
