Chalenam Rhythms
Bio
Chalenam Rhythms is a gospel band that was founded in 2011 by Charles and Namatayi Chipanga. The two are married and are former members of Tuku Music. The band plays Zimbabwean music with a traditional African wooden percussive instrument (Marimba).
Charles plays the wooden percussive instrument (Marimba) while her wife plays hosho (rattle). The name of the band came from their names Chale for Charles-Nam for Namatayi. The band is one of the first bands in Zimbabwe that uses marimba as a leading instrument. The band uses a number of music instruments such as bass guitars, acoustic guitar, drums, keyboards and percussion.
