Cheddar 039, real name Aviwe Mkhumbuzi, is a Durban-based independent Hip-Hop/Trap artist who started doing music in 2011 alongside his former crew Trouble Boyz.
He took a break from making music after the crew parted ways in 2014 and returned as a solo artist in 2018 when he appeared in Scarlo J’s record titled ‘Yo-Yo’.
His music serves as a reflection of a young kid coming to Durban with a dream of becoming a superstar. The rapper is on a quick rise to fame, as he has created a solid fan base that listens and follows his inspiring journey as an artist. Cheddar 039 is on a promising come-up: he has recorded tracks, performed at various night clubs and events in Durban, including the ANC Freedom Day celebrations, and the RapiFact event organised by Zakwe alongside the KZN Lockdown cypher team. He has scooped features from a various local artists, gaining popularity on the KZN music scene.
