Chiedza Tiyenga (chichi wembira)

 Chiedza Melody Tiyenga well known as Chichi wembira is a versatile mbira player, vocalist, dancer,hosho and ngororombe player from the Korekore Origin in Dande, Zimbabwe. she plays 3 types of mbiras which is Mavembe/Gandanga,Nhare/Nyamaropa tuning and Nyunganyunga. Chichi wembira is a professional musician who holds a diploma in Music attained at Music Crossroads Academy Zimbabwe and a Certificate in Music Business which was attained at the same institution. She is a Solo performer and I have worked with bands which includes Music Crossroads Divas,Vedu,Sipiti,Note2etoN choir, is currently a member of Music According to Percussion,a very powerful music ensemble which set percussion as the sole driver of it's music,and Kurai Makore and The Black Lions.The gwenyambirakadzi is also a co-leader of MAZWi band which is a Shona word that can be interpreted as Words or Voices in the Shona dialect. MAZWi is a young, vibrant and energetic group that plays a fusion of traditional and morden mbira music. Their music is to edutain, raise awareness, to heal, to celebrate culture and speaks about social and economic issues.MAZWi won the Chibuku Road to Fame, Harare Province 2023. The mbira guru performed at National, Co-operate and international events and festivals. She have participated in 2 Ethno music festivals, Ethno Sweden 2018 in Rattivik and the very first Ethno music festival in the USA 2021, North Carolina and,BiaAfrika Music concert in Zambia 2021, Miombo Magic 2017 and 2022 and Indian festival, Phenomenal Festival of Lights 2022 and 2023, just to name a few. Chichi Wembira was a part of the facilitators at Mavhurachando Camp, which was held at NgomaIngugu Arts center in Domboshava, Zimbabwe
