Club Pelican

The Pelican is an icon in Soweto's vast cultural and musical history. It is interesting because of its past role in the political and cultural history of Soweto. It was where those who were defied the apartheid regime met and regularly got arrested. But The Pelican was also the breeding ground for many of today's musical greats. Names such as Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Abdullah Ibrahim have graced the venue's stage.
