Cornelius Olifant
Bio
Cornelius Olifant is a multi-instrumentalist with the ability to play piano and guitar, with a genre-blending style of music that aims to be both artistic and cinematic.
Having performed at “The Music Imbizo” which is a large international music festival filled with industry workshops and big name performances, PACOFS (Free State’s most decorated theatre) with the band Ank’Sestars and as a member of the band Magine, Cornelius has been interviewed on Cape Town TV’s Ekse, performed at The Commune in Johannesburg and Magine's Eden Concert supported by Concerts SA.
Olifant has also had solo performances at Question Art’s Winter Fall Fashion Show, which a fashion show where acts like South African Hip Hop duo “Stino Le Twenny” have performed.
Cornelius has helped 56 Tambo, an arts focused community centre in the heart of Bloemfontein organize and execute art exhibitions, musical concerts and film screenings and festivals. He has successfully organized a guitar workshop in November 2023 with over 70 young people in attendance and continues to give free guitar lessons in his spare time. While being an organizer for “Vibrant Visions: Youth Art Fest”, an all inclusive youth focused festival, Cornelius is passionate about being involved off stage as well as on stage and believes in the sharing and education of art to the masses. Cornelius has not only a physical presence and engagement but is able to build an organic following as well through his unique style of music.
