DAJLA
Bio
Dajla, (whose first name means “River Tigris" in Arabic) is a singer, songwriter, performer, a producer of 4 albums and a music education program founder and director. She is known for the single "Remember Me" (+1 million streams). After traveling the world and performing internationally with three albums, the soul poetess made a stop in New York to work with 7-Grammy award winner and New York producer Gordon Williams, also known for his work with Amy Winehouse and Ms Lauryn Hill.
From this collaboration, several reggae-soul singles have been released with US heavyweights including the excellent track "Why" featuring Stephen Marley (son of Bob) or "Day by Day" with Aston Barrett Jr, leader of the Wailers.
Back in Europe in 2021, following her concert in Durban, South Africa at the Intra African Trade Fair CANEX/IATF, Dajla was invited to Senegal where she met the beat maker, singer and engineer, Killahbeatz. Together, they write, compose, and produce an album set to be released in 2025, a blend of RnB/Soul rhythms and Afrobeats.
The music ambassador continues to enchant us with her songs on peace unity, and with exciting discoveries like the young Senegalese rapper Linezo Drapeau (on the single N'oublie Jamais), the Ivorian trumpeter Mildah Miambanzila, or the Nigerian singer Conaki Zin (The Last Shall Be First).
When she isn’t recording or performing, Dajla is actively involved with her NPO Heaven Citizen and her music and music production programs to help promote youth development and build a brighter future.
