Emmanuel Tetteh Mensah, known professionally as Drakid or Drakoo, is a Ghanaian music mogul, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and fashion enthusiast. Born on August 3, 2000, in Half Assini, Ghana, Drakid's love for music was nurtured by his father, Benjamin Adjetey Mensah, who played traditional Ghanaian instruments. His mother, Rebecca Adobeah, encouraged his creative pursuits.
Growing up, Drakid was fascinated by Ghanaian music. He spent hours watching performances, mesmerized by the energy and passion of the musicians. This early exposure laid the foundation for his future success.
Drakid's educational foundation was laid at Sankore Senior High School, where he honed his leadership and creative skills. As a student, he led the school's cultural troupe and founded the prestigious music club, "Harmony," fostering a community of talented musicians.
At 17, Drakid launched a blogging career, sharing his thoughts on music, fashion, and lifestyle. This marked the beginning of his journey as a respected music mogul, entrepreneur, and philanthropist.
In 2022, Drakid founded BigX Music Worldwide (BXMW), achieving remarkable success. He discovered and nurtured 20 talented artists, produced 10 chart-topping hits, collaborated with international artists, and showcased Ghanaian music globally.
Drakid's accomplishments have been recognized with several awards, including the Hall Of Eminence Awards for Best Music Promoter, Global Music Awards Africa for Best Record Label, Miss Central Ghana for Entertainment Personality of the Year, and Ghana Music Awards USA for Record Label of the Year.
Despite his success, Drakid faced challenges securing funding for BXMW's early operations, navigating Ghana's competitive music industry, balancing creative vision with commercial success, and overcoming self-doubt and criticism. Nevertheless, he persevered, cementing his position as a leading figure in Ghana's music industry.
