DXC
Bio
Dubz X Carter (pronounced Dubz and Carter) is a hip hop duo from South Africa.
DXC (born Jameel Webster (Dubz) and Jared Carter (Carter) have been friends for over a decade, and have been working and growing together as artists in that time.
Officially formed at the beginning of 2017, Dubz X Carter (pronounced Dubz and Carter) have taken the Cape Town Music scene by storm, already performing at prestigious events such as Sizzled Food and Music Festival, The Sneaker Exchange and The Community Chest Twilight Run to name a few.
Beginning their journey in their home town Mitchell's Plain, both having a mutual interest in making music, they formed a Rap group called "Grand Alliance", which consisted of four members. The group was the first to create a buzz around hip hop in the City for nearly a decade, being compared to the impact that Brasse Vannie Kaap had. After Grand Alliance disbanded, Dubz X Carter continued to work together but never formed a duo, they featured with artists like Ali That Dude for a project by Rude World Records, and Dubz enjoyed a solo run releasing his single called "Aweh" on Good Hope FM
The first single called "Rough", was playlisted on Good Hope FM and made its debut on The Ready D Show, already receiving massive plaudits from fans and the Grandmaster himself. Their style of music can best be described with one word, versatility. With a blend of Hip Hop, R&B, Trap and Trap Soul, their music is bound to capture the Youth and has seen them generate a decent following on social media.
The Duo can sing and rap, which is the reason for their sound being versatile. They have also teamed up as song writers, penning a track for RnB singer Dani Bagel, which they then featured on. Dubz doing the vocals along with Dani and Carter doing a Rap verse. The song was released in August 2017 on Heart FM and enjoyed a great run on the stations SA Top Ten Chart remaining on the chart for almost two months. DXC has since developed a core fanbase that are ready to support with every new release and would be out in droves to support them at live shows.
