Equalizah

Panashe Mujuru, stage name, “Equalizah” is a traditional, Afro-fusion artist who has braced the stage with an invoking dose of hardcore traditional music. With a dominating voice accompanied by the Mbira, Panashe delivers a familiar Zimbabwean sound we can relate to. He started his musical journey in 2012 in Honde Valley, Manicaland.

He moved to Harare in 2015 where he met Roger Rust who encouraged and motivated him to pursue music professionally. The organizers for the Nyanga Arts Festival gave him a shot and from then on he rose to be part of several outfits.He performed at the Nyanga Arts Festival 2022 edition and that’s where he crossed paths with Music Crossroads Academy. He was granted a scholarship by the Academy to pursue music professionally and he graduated with a Certificate in Professional Music in 2023. Equalizah scooped a recording deal with Ilima Records of Bulawayo after putting up an astounding performance at the 2023 Edition of the Nyanga Arts Festival.

Apart from the stage he has also performed at the Sounds of Africa, Ethno Zimbabwe festival in 2023 and on the Music Box Session courtesy of Heart and Soul TV.
