Hardmad Kidume

Kidume Mzee Mnonji aka Hardmad Kidume is a Tanzanian Dancehall/Reggae artist. He is known for his unique sound and ability to connect with his audience. He is a two time winner of the Kilimanjaro ReggaeSong of the Year Award 2022 and 2026.
Born in Mwanza in the 1980’s he grew up in a musical family. His fathers band White Jazz was one of his earliest influences. Inspired by other artists such as  Bob Marley and Kenny Rogers local musicians and traditional Tanzanian music helped to inform his style. Kidume began writing and performing his own music and his career began to expand after his first big live performance at the Mambo Club, Oyster Bay, Dar es Salaam.
Hardmad Kidume has written thousands of songs, , recorded dozens of music videos and has  performed extensively in East Africa (Uganda, Kenya, TZ). Hardmad & The Band were regular performers in Dar es Salaam, Arusha, Mwanza, Zanzibar and other places around Tanzania before he took his musical talents to Austria. While living in Europe he regularly performed in clubs and festivals in Vienna, Rinz, Sausberg, Villach  and Graz.
One of the best days of his life was his first stage appearance in 1993 and he has embraced the musician life ever since.
Kidume has 3 sisters and 5 brothers. He credits his family’s loving support for his continued success. 
His music first appeared in 1999 on Tanzanian radio stations and quickly moved into  local clubs. 
Kidume strongly believes in giving back to his country as he teaches his love of his roots and music to others at home and around the globe.
Kidume’s second love is farming and herbal healing.
