Holy Family Band
Bio
Formed in 2003, Holy Family Band is a Gambian reggae outfit. It is made up of eight members Ebrima (guitarist, lead vocalist) Ebu Meyer (Bass), Habib Leigh (guitar), Abdoulie Leigh (drums), Alaghie Leigh (keyboards), Kebba Njie (percussion), Basiru Drummeh (technician) and Alaghi Joof (dance, vocals). They are originally from Bakau New Town on the West Atlantic Coast. Three band members are brothers. They perform mostly for tourists in nightclubs, bars, restaurants and hotel stages.
In 2004, they released their debut album entitled ‘Thank God’ followed by a second album called ‘Respect Your Mama’ (released in 2005). In 2007, they released a third album called ‘Things You Need to Know’.
In 2010, most band members travelled to Europe to further their career. They stopped producing songs, but continue to have live performances. They also back lot of international artists who come to play concerts in The Gambia.
