Jah Bless
Bio
Jah Bless is a Nigerian singer-songwriter. Based and born in Lagos, Jah Bless hails from Ondo state in the Southwestern region of Nigeria. Real name Olatunde Owoloye Olumoroti, he began his career as a member of a group called Melodyz in 2002.
In 2003 he competed in the maiden edition of ‘Star Quest’ and emerged regional winner. That competition had artists who’d later be important in the pop landscape: Asa, KC Presh, Nigga Raw and Samsong. He then worked with producer ID Cabasa after his debut single Dis & Dat (2004).
Before his debut album ‘Rebirth’ (2009) Jah Bless worked with singer 9ice on the single ‘Ganja Man,’ his first trip to the mainstream. It was his second album ‘Over Ground’ (2011) that brought him fame. One of that album’s single ‘Joor’ was remixed with several artists. The result was increased attention, a hit song and a Best Collaboration Headies award among others.
He has released his third album ‘I am Me’ (2015)
