Jerry D

Jerry D (real name Jerry Mangwato) is a music producer from Zambia who was mentored by Jerry Fingers. He draws his inspiration from Fingers and Sebastian Mutale. He started producing music at Sound Wave Studios in Lusaka. He began producing music in 1999 when while doing grade 11 at Kabulonga Boys High School. Shortly afterwards he and his brother Howard opened a studio called Starquest at a building behind city market. The later moved the studio home and changed it to Kabin Studios.

Besides making beats, he plays piano. He has also done backing vocals on a number of songs which he has produced. He has worked with artists such as MC Wabwino, Orga Family, OC, P-Jay, Chichi, Bryan, Thelma, Karasa and Petersen. He has recorded tracks with other foreign artists such as Mr. Flavor who featured in ‘Utaka’ and Benjimfwile when he came to perform in Zambia.
