Bio
Joshua Mthembu is a composer, arranger, orchestrator and playwright from South Africa. He is a new generation writer breaking grounds in the South African soil, writing mostly musicals, indigenous operas, while his music ranges from pure African music, commercialised and opera in indigenous idiom.
His well known works includes Igugu Lami (my pride) musical, UMkabayi KaJama three acts opera, Intshisekelo (the longing) song cycle, Great & Brave Women in the Bible (songs for soprano), Missa Solemnis in Bb Major and Abahlali Basemjondolo (opera in modern South Africa).
