Kabeyah

David Kabeya, better known by his stage name Kabeyah is a Congolese born singer and songwriter living in Cape Town, South Africa. From an early age, Kabeyah embraced music as a beacon of stability and joy in a world that was rapidly changing around him. Growing up in a children's home, David was fortunate enough to cross paths with - African HIP HOP Indaba - who made it possible to record his first single VIBE as Kabeyah. Initially performing as David Kay, releasing Thank You Lord, he soon came to embrace his unique heritage and adopted his new name in honor of his family and cultural roots.

Kabeyah's style of music is inspired by the legends of Hip Hop, R&B, and Pop interpreted through the African rhythm beating through his veins. He hopes that his music would not only inspire and entertain his fans but also advance the intercultural dialogue of brotherly love. Taking cues from the help and love he received from strangers, he decided to give back by organizing a fundraising event at Cape Town Multi-Service Centre, his home for the past four years, featuring other up and coming local artists and fellow housemates.
