Based in Accra, Ghana, Kofi Ghanaba African Heritage Archives and Museum is an independent contemporary art-gallery owned by Kofi Ghanaba. Born on 4 May 1923 in Ghana, Ghanaba changed his name once or twice; he ultimately took the name Kofi Ghanaba. His mission is to preserve, and document his archives. The museum promotes the use of Indigenous African Musical Instruments in World Music. Ghanaba is a musician, journalist, and an author.
The museum showcases art works from local and international artists. Visitors may request to purchase an item if they so wish. The gallery also wishes host live events in the near future, these include cultural events such as live plays, poetry recitals, dance concerts, parties, launches, as well as private and public lectures.
The gallery store contains CDs, videos, and DVDs; contemporary art work from both local and international artists; clothing; a selection of contemporary art books; posters, paper goods; crafts; Indigenous African Musical Instruments and Carvings.
