Lefa Mosea
Bio
Lefa started his musical journey in 2002 with private guitar lessons from a music teacher. He then enrolled at the Vusi Mahlasela Foundation, where he discovered his passion for music theory and began playing the saxophone. Later, he moved to Port Elizabeth to pursue a B.Mus(ed) Degree at what was then NMMU (Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University). After completing his studies, Lefa joined the already established jazz band, Take Note, which was actively performing around Port Elizabeth.
Notable collaborations include recording the hit song "Love Colour Spin" with Mobi Dixon and Msaki. In 2024 Lefa worked with Wave Ryder from Ambitiouz Entertainment as a producer and saxophonist on a tribute song titled Thato ea hae for the late Lesotho/SA rapper, Malome Vector.
Lefa Mosea is recording artist, saxophonist, composer, songwriter and arranger from South Africa. After successfully releasing and launching his debut album in 2020 Lefa Mosea scooped 3 nominations at the prestigious Mzantsi Jazz Awards in South Africa in the best newcomer, best male and song of the year respectfully. Lefa has since toured the SADC region promoting his album that has hit titles like "Mabele", Mr Ngqawana, Naha ya rona and his latest single Azania which was released in 2021 touring countries like Lesotho, Botswana, Mozambique and Eswatini.
