Mafia 1

Mafia 1 is the nickname of Hassan tornado, a Ugandan musician currently based in South Africa. Born in Luweero and raised in Makindye, Kampala, he is the grandson of Musa Body, a well-known businessman in Uganda. Mafia 1 has spent 10 years in South Africa, where he runs his business and music career. He is popular not only with the Ugandan community in South Africa but also with the local community in Johannesburg. Mafia 1 has traveled to various African countries, including Namibia, Lesotho, Swaziland, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe,Tanzania and Kenya.

'Mafia 1' is a name given to him by an Italian man after he attacked the leader of a gang of thugs in Soweto, Johannesburg and handed him in to the authorities for arrest - not as a cop but as a concerned citizen. Since then all South Africans call him Mafia 1 Tornado. Throughout his life, Mafia 1 has been music-oriented. His tracks include 'Mandela Freedom', 'Baligeya Nkona' and 'Tebaagaliza' ft Shiddy Style.
