Melody Felician Mbassa is an award-winning Tanzanian singer, songwriter, and Afro-rhythm guitarist, born on March 28, 1990. His music blends traditional Tanzanian "Dansi Music" with elements from various modern musical genres, often showcasing his unique sound known as Mizikale. From 2002, his father nurtured his talent by managing a group of young street singers called Dynamic Family. Melody’s father also served as a church choirmaster and was a temporary vocalist at Sensela Mara Jazz in the Mara region of Tanzania. Melody became accustomed to fame and popularity at a young age when he worked as a presenter on the children's program "Toto Party," which aired on radio and television stations like ITV and TVT (now TBC). He was so successful on the show that he became known by the name Toto Party. In 2003, Melody recorded "Toto Party," becoming the first child musician to release a highly successful album in Tanzanian music history 2004. His debut album featured eight songs, including "Toto Party," which topped the charts on various radio and television stations in Tanzania. He was nominated for the Tanzania Music Awards in 2021 and became a double award winner at the Tanzania Music Awards 2022 (TMA22).
