Biography
Jose Emmanuel Donkoh (born 1 February 1998), known professionally as MJ Donkoh is a Ghanaian Afrobeat, hip hop, and trap Singer-songwriter. He started his musical career in 2019 with the release of "THE GOLDCOAST," his debut EP, and has since risen to fame with his catchy tunes.
EARLY LIFE:
MJ Donkoh was born on 1 February 1998 to Matthew Donkoh and Jenet Adwoa Fosua Daaba in Abodom, Ghana. He was raised in a fragile community and his interest in music led him to write songs at a very young age where he also joined a music group. He received his primary school education at Agona Abodom Presby School and proceeded to Higher Height Senior High School. In 2016, MJ’s plans of furthering his education to study Language and Law at the University came to a standstill due to a lack of funds. This led the rapper to consider a job offer as a sweeping floor in a barbershop in Dc( Dansoman).
He then went on to pursue his music career and recorded his debut EP.
MUSIC CAREER
MJ Donkoh started rap after he came across music from American artist Lil Wayne when he was at a game Center with his friends. He got inspired and decided to join a music group formed by a friend and due to that, he cited trap music as his influence. In 2019, he swept people away with” THE GOLDCOAST” EP. The record was released under his independence and supported by loamhiv. In March 2021 he released his anticipated single, "Ballin," which featured Ryderz from the GroundUp Chale, the record won many listeners and was interviewed at Zylofon FM. MJ has had releases including his most recent hit, "Cinarita’. MJ's popularity has been progressively growing in recent years as he makes a name for himself around the world.
