Oddball

OddBall is a four piece Sowetan band, comprised of members Musa Zwane (Guitar) , Sandile Mbatha (Bass) and Sphiwe Mgidi (Drums). The members have each been working musicians for almost a decade and they have played together for multiple years on various projects in diverse musical environments. This particular project spawned in 2021 mid-year and has been operational ever since. The band’s sound can be described as alternative - being an amalgamation of the members’ varied and vast musical influences ranging from Hip Hop, Rock, and Jazz, to name a few. The music seamlessly weaves through these different influences so as to voice the quartet’s take on music and to create soundscapes that are singular. Oddball is currently working on recording the first EP and is playing as many live performances as possible in order to get people familiar with the sound that is unique, yet simultaneously familiar.
