Peter Pearlson

Peter started professional recording in 1984 at Ovation studios in Johannesburg. He moved to RPM in 1986 which then became Downtown Studios in 1990. He became chief engineer at RPM studios in 1989 and was then promoted to Studio Director in 1990. He went freelance in 1995 and opened Forest Studios, a world-class mastering facility in 1997. Peter sold his shares in Forest Studios in 2005 to pursue a solo venture - recording, mixing and mastering. Joined The Academy Of Sound Engineering at the beginning of 2010 in a freelance capacity to lecture recording techniques and mixing.

Peter has worked with U2, Brian Eno, Hothouse Flowers, Atlantic Starr, Judy Boucher, Hugh Masekela, Stimela, Zim Ngqawana, Paul Hanmer, McCoy Mrubata, Gloria Bosman, Tananas, Squeal, Wonderboom and Lithium, to mention a few. He has won eight SAMAs to date for Best Engineer.
