Bio
Tshidiso Setshogwe is an events manager, producer, camera operator, assistant director, stage manager and sound technician from South Africa.
Setshogwe is also the founder of Ralenale Productions. While growing up, he is passion for music was influenced by kwaito through such artists as Kamazu, Trompies and many more. Besides Kwaito, he also fell in love with hip hop, spoken word, jazz and reggae.
Setshogwe became more than just a performer in the late 1990s and became one of the youngest member of Black Sunday event coordinator which gave birth to a brand named Made in Soweto.
Driven by passion and the love of the Arts, he joined CICI (Creative Inner City Initiative) where he grew to become a writer and producer. Setshogwe was one of the founding members of a youth arts group called Dipeu Tsa Kumba (seeds of creativity), which gave birth to the Newtown poetry and live music scene. In 2000, he worked for an arts organisation called Sounds of Edutainment as an events coordinator, and workshop organiser. SOE produced Jozi spoken Words Fest and the first Jozi Book Fair.
In 2000, he formed a band called skin2skin which later became skin2soul. He also increased his set of skills in film, theatre by attending workshops provided by the NFVF and Market theatre Lab. Setshogwe worked on film set for King Shuft (sunrise production) as assistance director on music videos, camera operator and editor. He was part of the cast of 'Go Dumo Dumo', a musical by Kgafe wa Magugudi.
In 2011 and 2012, Setshogwe worked for Joy of jazz as a stage manager and assistance site manager. That same year, he worked on Sizzla Kolonji Jamaican musician SA tour as a production and marketing coordinator. He also worked as a music video assistant director for Fspot Band from Argentina under Mzwakhe Dlamini.
