Ras Soto is a renowned Mozambican singer and songwriter of Dancehall, Reggae and Ragga Muffin. His career is marked, not only by musical performance, but also with activism in relation to social causes.
He began his career at the age of nine. When he was still small, he was convinced that music would be her purpose in life. In his trajectory he passed through the traditional rhythms Africans and rap, a style in which he developed the ability to write, rhyme and improvisation. The encounter with reggae music happened in his youth, when he started his Rastafarian experience. Since then, he has been improving in the various aspects of this style.
Ras Soto is a versatile artist, he sings and composes in English, Portuguese, Iyaric (language of positive Rastafarian), Patois (Jamaican English, also known as Creole) and Xangana (traditional Mozambican language). He transits with mastery between the different aspects of reggae music. This feature makes making Ras Soto highly sought after by music producers from the five continents, for songwriting and recording.
In his discography, he brings the album Love is Solution (2014), the mixtapes Dancehall Time (2019) and Ras Soto World Wide (2020), the EP Nah go let them (2021) with several singles. The artist's entire repertoire is available on the main platforms of streaming. In 202, his Extra Ordinary music was licensed by the company Zumba Fitness, passing the music to be performed in more than 180 countries. In 2022, the Swing Show African Roots of Dancehall was contemplated by ProAC and is circulating in cultural spaces in the capital of São Paulo and Greater São Paulo.
Currently, Ras Soto resides in the city of São Paulo, Brazil, where he seeks to expand his musical work.
