RemiTone Music

RemiTone Music is an Afro and World music band celebrated for its innovative fusion of traditional Tanzanian tribal rhythms, diatonic accordion sounds, and modern groovy melodies. Known for their dynamic live performances, the band’s music blends humor and cultural insights, with songs sung in both Swahili and French. Their lyrics often humorously delve into everyday life, creating a rich tapestry of stories and themes that resonate with audiences across the globe.

The story of RemiTone Music began with the collaboration between Remi, the band’s founder, and Aurélie Chausiku, a talented singer and musician. Their partnership was forged in Tanzania, where they met and subsequently launched their creative journey. In 2017, they released their first EP, Safari, marking the beginning of their musical exploration together. In 2019, Aurélie officially joined Remi and the Cocodo Band, and by 2021, they recorded their debut album ZigZaga in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This album solidified their unique sound, rooted in cultural diversity and social themes, gaining attention across continents.

Since July 2021, the band has been based in western France, performing under the name RemiTone Music. They’ve graced stages throughout Europe and Africa, captivating audiences with their energetic performances. A key highlight of their career is their participation in the annual International Swahili Day, organized by UNESCO’s headquarters in Paris. As the only French-Tanzanian band, they bring an authentic and vibrant representation of Swahili culture to this prestigious event. Additionally, RemiTone Music proudly represented Tanzania during the 2024 Olympic Games at Station Afrique in Paris, showcasing their talent on an international stage.
Looking ahead, RemiTone Music is preparing to release a new album. While fans eagerly await its arrival, several of the band’s new tracks are already available on digital music platforms, giving a taste of the exciting musical direction the band is heading in.
