Rev Chivaviro
Bio
Togarirepi Chivaviro, best known as Rev Chivaviro, is a Zimbabwean gospel artist based in South Africa.
He was born on 22 January 1975 in Gokwe. He attended Gwehava Primary School where he was part of a school choir. He moved to Harare where he joined Mabelreign Methodist Church Choir in 1992. He became the assistant director of the choir. He later founded a band called The Faith Ambassadors while studying a theology degree. Chivaviro gained fame through a gospel hit 'Ebenezer'. The song featured artists such as Charles Charamba, Mechanic Manyeruke and Noel Zembe, Lawrence Haisa, Bethen Pasinawako and Kudzi Nyakudya.
As of August 2016, Chivaviro had released ten albums: 'Peace, Hope and Love' (1999), 'Power' (2000), 'Komborerai Africa' (2002), 'Kuna Mwari Zvitaure' (2005), 'The Return' (2009), 'Nguva Yakanakisa' (2010), 'To God Be The Glory' (2011), 'Ishe Taungana' (2013), 'Ebenezer' (2014), 'Mhepo Inoperekedza' and 'Tsitsi Dzake Ihuru' (2016).
He has won a number of accolades such as Musica Peace Award for Music That Promotes Peace, Song of the Year, Best Song Writer and Best Produced Album of the year.
