RNSU Is Stepping Into The Game With A Bang! Born Sebetli Frans Tshelane, RNSU (pronounced Ransu) is a South African rapper/songwriter and presenter based in Johannesburg, South Africa. RNSU, raised in the town of Lephalale, is a fresh talent with a distinct, punchy and energetic flow. He is currently signed under Jawelane/Impact Sounds who are independent South African record labels.

In most cases, managing to get into the mainstream music industry requires more than just talent. Everything about the artist has to be in synch, especially the music and those behind the scene. One artist who seems to have made the most of his talent is Sebetli Frans Tshelane best known by his stage name, RNSU (pronounced Ransu) who is has released his latest studio single titled FIND MY WAY which features afro-soul sensation, Malik and the 3-time Grammy Award-Winning Soweto Gospel Choir.

The new single FIND MY WAY, produced by the legenary music mogul and Motswako originator Thasman, is a fresh tune that tells a real story of what some people might be going through in life. “This is one song that breathes life to the hip-hop genre, working with Soweto Gospel Choir and Malik was such a blessing and their industry experience, vocal contributions, and my rhymes made this song unique, and easy to relate to.”

RNSU grew up listening to a variety of music but when in high school, he started bending more towards hip-hop. It was around this time that the talented emcee started jotting hip-hop lyrics. “That time I was listening to a lot of international hip-hop acts and the local artists were my go to references for vibing out, which is where I was drawing my inspiration from” says RNSU.

Things took a turn for better when he moved from his hometown to the Vaal in 2014 where he was studying at the Vaal University of Technology. Often more than not, he would lock himself in the room, polishing his writing and rhyming skills. “I think it was 2016 when I teamed up with a roommate who was studying music production. It was this time that we recorded a number of songs and one of the first single we released was called ‘Shots’ – a trap infused song.

This tune eventually led RNSU to meet Thabiso Moral Thobane, the music executive and founder of the South African record label Jawelane. This introduction cemented a great working relationship with Thabiso Moral Thobane leading the rapper to finally working with an experienced producer and in a professional studio. Even though nothing materialised from the studio sessions that RNSU had, the two never gave up, instead continued on improving the rapper’s sound, and vigorously working on their industry relationships.

Eventually, RNSU found himself in studio working with one of South Africa’s experienced and versatile music doctor, Thabiso ‘Thasman’ Tsotetsi.
