Rubie Bass
Bio
Rubie is an artist from Zambia. Growing up in the sprawling township of Bulangililo in Kitwe, a town on the Copperbelt, Rubie fell in love with music at a very tender age. This manifested by his desire to watch live music performed by a group of Congolese musicians that performed at a bar situated at the market area located about 2km away from his grandmother's house. It earned him a couple of spankings for 'risking' his young life by venturing outside home between 7pm and 8pm.
Rubie's area of interest as regards bass playing is in Reggae, Afro-pop, Hip Hop, Country, Kalindula, RnB among others. A fun loving father and husband, dedicated musician, who loves swimming, cooking and traveling.
Since 2000, Rubie Bass has performed with various artistes such as Maureen Lilanda, General Ozzy, Lilly- T, Daddy Zemus, The Sakala Brothers ( all these being household names in Zambia) and currently performing with Bantu Roots. The last international stint was when he traveled to study and perform in the People's Republic of China.
Currently Rubie Bass is domiciled in Lusaka, the capital city of the Republic of Zambia performing at various fora with Bantu Roots and at times with his band the Cross Over Band.
