Samson Maiko

Samson Maiko is a self-taught trumpeter and music producer from Nairobi, Kenya. Samson is a true embodiment of sonic self drive and innovative diversity. He is a versatile musician who can play guitar, piano, drums, saxophone, trombone and french horn. He has widely explored his skills in Nairobi, Kenya by playing in orchestras, bands and as a session musician to many local and international artists. Over the years, he has been featured in Coke Studio Africa and is currently the music director of a renown band in Nairobi, Kenya called Kelele Kollektiv. He describes his music as Afro Keja, a style that he created which is inspired by New Orleans jazz, film music, African pop music and Kenyan/ East African elements of music.
