Bio
Founded on 1 September 1986, SWP Records is a small independent record label based in Holland. It was started in 1986 by drummer and composer Michael Baird due to a perceived lack of vision in the established record business. Bird is a Zambian-born music artist whose thrust is to record music from central, eastern and southern African countries.
Bird has made several field trips not only in Zambia but also in Zimbabwe and Lesotho. The label has so far released six albums and two compilations of Zambian popular music, covering the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.
