TANZANIA PHILHARMONIC SOCIETY

Tanzania Philharmonic Society (T.P.S), is a classical music society based in Dar es Salaam. Composed of talented and devoted musicians who perform across a range of musical genres from classical, popular, folk and traditional music from all over the world in a classical choral setting. We stage our concerts and as well perform in corporate events, business parties, and private functions. Our focus is on delivering high-quality classical music through various channels, such as social media campaigns, fairs, trade shows, conferences, endorsements, and projects. Additionally, we organize fundraising activities and seasonal concerts.

T.P.S has a successful track record of organising numerous concerts, including the Corona Concert in 2021 at the National House of Talent in Dar, Love on Air and Africa day Concerts in 2022, Our Sounds, Christmas Carols Concert, a Young Virtuoso Piano and Guitar Concert in 2023. These events have not only been successful but have also spurred further projects that enhance the appreciation of classical music within the Tanzanian context.

Our most recent project, the Symphonic Fusion: Tanzania Philharmonic Tour, was a result of our collaboration with the Goethe-Institute and featured performances in Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar, and Arusha. This tour was a tremendous success, featuring an East African string quartet and the renowned German pianist Mr. Robert Aust, attracting over 1,000 attendees.
